Winter Wedding Photography Is The Way To Go

Why Choose a Winter Wedding

There was a time when most weddings were held in the summer months. Couples traditionally planned for June when the weather was warm. Brides envisioned a wedding with the scent of honeysuckle in the air and butterflies fluttering on the breeze while they walked down the aisle to meet their partner. Nowadays however is not always the case as todays smart couples realise the benefits of having a cold weather wedding.

How Winter Weddings Differ from Summer

The brisk winter weather is a pleasant break from the oppressive heat that usually accompanies summer weddings. Outdoor in summer means flying insects that swarm or bite guests and of course the wedding party! Insects that require constant swatting and are irritating during the ceremony can destroy wedding photographs. Insects are not a problem in winter weddings because the weather is chilly.

Heat and humidity are not an issue in winter weddings. Brides and bridesmaids can enjoy the decadence of having gowns constructed of substantial fabric without worrying about the sticky summer heat. Grooms and groomsmen can wear tuxedos comfortably without feeling constricted and overheated as they would during warm weather months.

Winter weddings are more budget friendly than warm weather weddings. January through March are especially affordable months to schedule a wedding ceremony and reception as most venues consider wintertime off-season. December can also be an inexpensive time to schedule a wedding site although it is usually more popular than other winter months for a wedding.

 Winter Photography

The glorious winter season provides extraordinary photographic elements creating a more enjoyable environment for the wedding couple. The bright holiday lights and invigorating temperatures produce an exciting and festive environment to celebrate a wedding.

Outdoor photographs are stunning in the wintertime. Winters pallor creates an exceptionally bridal theme for outdoor photographs. A snowfall that occurs on a wedding day lends an ethereal touch to wedding photographs as delicate snowflakes dance around the wedding couple. The ground has a soft layer of glittering snow and the trees glisten with ice. A winter setting is a dramatic backdrop for wedding photographs. The bright white background and cold weather brings a complimentary blush to everyones faces and is extremely flattering to brides, grooms and the wedding party.

Colorful shawls worn across the shoulders of the bride and bridesmaids introduces the beautiful wedding colors into an outdoor winter scene while keeping the women warm. Faux fur capes are lovely accessories to wear for winter wedding photographs. Tuxedos or even attractive sweaters look dashing on the groom and groomsmen when worn for outdoor wedding photographs.

Indoor photographs for winter weddings are unbelievably breathtaking. All wedding colors look especially beautiful in contrast to winters color palette and photographs taken indoors are visually spectacular. Winter is a time when deep, rich tones look especially elegant and soft tones are particularly lovely as they cast a warm glow in any venue. A wedding in a winter wonderland creates delightfully special and memorable wedding photographs.
